It seems that not a day passes without another new electric concept vehicle being announced for the market. We’re beyond the world of hybrids now. Producers and customers are looking for cars that run purely on electric power and it seems that Skoda is finally ready to deliver.
What Is It?
It’s the Vision E and it’s not just their first electric car. It’s their first autonomous car as well which means it will, sort of, drive itself. The tech isn’t quite there yet for a car where you can sit in the back with no one at the wheel and it’s doubtful that the Vision E will change that. But it will probably have some rather impressive course correction tech.
When Will We See It?
Apparently, it’s going to be officially on display at the Shanghai Motor Show which is great news because that’s only a few weeks away. As for when it will arrive on the market, that’s another question that hasn’t been answered just yet.
It’s big, roughly the size of a large SUV and it will hit a 112 miles per hour which for an electric car is still pretty impressive. As for the tech it’s got two electric motors that will supposedly take you for 311 miles without charge. Again, this is quite close to the top range of any electric car on the market. Right now, the record is held by Tesla with cars that can travel on one charge for 335 miles.
