The Škoda VisionS large SUV concept is shown for the first time with official design sketches released last night, prior to the model’s debut proper at the Geneva motor show next month.
The VisionS concept, much of which is expected to incorporated in the new (as yet unnamed) large SUV when it reaches the UK market in early 2017, offers three rows of seating and will be large enough for up to six passengers and luggage.
With dimensions of 1,680mm in height, 4,700mm in length and a width of 1,910mm, the VisionS is an imposing concept, based on the VW Group’s MQB platform and features much of the chiselled front-end styling seen on the VisionC concept and first introduced on the brilliant new Škoda Superb launched last year.
Although it’s too far away from launch for any confirmed details, AutoCar reports that prices of Škoda’s new large SUV to start in the region of £24,000 which is a considerable £5,000 and £8,000 LESS (respectively) than targeted Korean rivals Sorento and DNA sibling Santa Fe.
Powertrains are expected to include a range of tried and very well tested four-pot petrol and diesel engines seen in the current Škoda line-up and AWD will be offered across the range.
We’ll bring you more details on Škoda’s new large SUV when we know them. In the meantime, tell us what you think below.
