One of the UK’s very best driving cars just got better.
Following a 21 per cent year-on-year increase in Swift model sales during 2015, Suzuki UK has launched the Special Edition SZ-L model with five-speed manual transmission, in either three or five door body configuration.
The SZ-L Special Edition is based on the mid-spec (but already well-equipped) SZ3 which offers seven airbags, ESP, air conditioning, USB port, Bluetooth and LED daytime running lights as standard, but adds a unique exterior design with gloss black 16” alloys, rear upper spoiler and SZ-L badging.
Further additions fitted as standard on SZ-L Special Edition include satellite navigation, DAB Radio, cruise control, sport-type steering wheel with silver stitching plus further silver stitching to the seats and gear lever boot. The SZ-L is available in seven colours including the new (£430 metallic option) ‘horizon orange’.
The SZ-L uses the tried and tested 1.2-litre Dual VVT 94PS engine and offers good value for money in terms of the initial investment and running costs. With emissions of just 116g/km CO2 – costing £30 in annual VED after the first year – the four-pot petrol engine returns 56.5mpg on the ‘official combined cycle’, but an everyday real-world mpg figure in excess of 50mpg should be easily achievable.
The new SZ-L model falls in insurance group 11E, as do the other models in the Swift range using the 1.2-litre engine, targeting younger Swift buyers who want to own what is arguably the best driving car in its class.
