Vauxhall has released price and specification details of its new 44-model Mokka X line-up. It will be the first Vauxhall model to wear the ‘X’ moniker designated for future ‘SUV and crossover-type’ vehicles. It will be in showrooms from October this year, priced from £17,590 on-the-road.

With the UK absorbing almost 20 per cent of the more than 500,000 units sold in Europe, the Vauxhall/Opel Mokka has been a significant success since its launch in 2012. - 2017 Vauxhall Mokka X 2

Revealed at the Geneva motor show earlier this year, the new Mokka X will arrive with a fresh interior and exterior design, a new powertrain and features OnStar and Apple CarPlay. The new look is the work of a design team led by Brit Mark Adams and is expected to build on the success of its predecessor.

The 44-model Mokka X line-up provides a wide range of variants across four trim grades – Design Nav, Active, Elite and Elite Nav. - 2017 Vauxhall Mokka X 3

New exterior colours such as ‘Amber Orange’ and ‘Lava Red’ will also be available. On the inside, the Mokka X has a completely new dashboard inspired by the new (and excellent) Astra.

Several petrol and diesel engines will be available, including the new-to-range 1.4i 153PS Turbo petrol engine, as well as the 1.6CDTi 110PS ecoFLEX manual diesel which is available at every trim level and delivers up to 72.4mpg (combined) and only 103g/km. It is available from £19,515 OTR with the Design Nav trim, which also gives 20% ‘benefit-in-kind’, making it an attractive proposition to company car drivers. - 2017 Vauxhall Mokka X 5

With 153PS of power, Vauxhall is also introducing a new generation 1.4-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol unit that offers 0-60mph acceleration of just 9.4 seconds and a top speed of 120mph. We first saw this new engine in the much lauded new Astra. Deployed in the Mokka X, it will be available linked only to a six-speed automatic transmission, adaptive all-wheel drive and start/stop, achieving 42.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 154g/km. The 1.4T engine is available from £21,150 OTR in Design Nav trim.

Standard range equipment includes 18” alloy wheels (excluding ecoFLEX models), LED daytime running lights, front fog lights and silver roof rails. Inside there’s an 8-inch touch screen with Vauxhall’s IntelliLink Infotainment system, the innovative OnStar personal connectivity and service assistant. This standard level of equipment is available from just £17,590 OTR with the manual 1.6 115PS petrol engine. - 2017 Vauxhall Mokka X 1

Priced from £22,855, Elite Nav is the top-of-the-range trim and adds full leather interior, heated front seats and steering wheel along with tinted rear windows.

Once we get hold of the new Vauxhall Mokka X, we’ll bring you a first-drive report.
